• We offer three options to join us at Splash. Private lessons and seminars do not require a membership; however, to access the facility independently, a membership is required.

  • Your minutes will be accessible in your account on your membership renewal date each month. We suggest logging in and booking your dog’s swims for the month, on the day that your minutes become available.

    We have limited the number of members to ensure that there is enough time available to each of you each month, however, if you wait until later in your billing cycle to book your swims, there is no guarantee that you will be able to get all of your swims in during that last week of your cycle.

    If you have minutes leftover, they are valid for up to 60 days from the date they were issued.

  • You bet! The pool is open from 9 AM to 9 PM, 7 days a week. When you apply for a membership, you can choose either a weekday membership, which will give you access to book between 9 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday, or an evenings and weekends membership, giving you access to the pool between 5 PM and 9 PM on weekdays, and from 9 AM to 9 PM on weekends.

    We only sell a set amount of each of these memberships to ensure that you will have the ability to book during these times. It would be awful if, for example, 90% of the members are all trying to access the pool on the weekends. We have set up the memberships in a way that availability will never be a concern.

  • You'll choose your membership, complete an orientation, receive your access information, and then you can start booking your own swims.

  • If your dog hasn’t swum before, we recommend starting with one of our seminars or private lessons. One of our instructors can help introduce your dog to the water in a kind, force-free way. We find that many dogs love swimming if introduced in a no-pressure, supportive way.

    If your dog falls in love with swimming, a membership is the perfect next step.

  • We want you to get a feel of things to make sure Splash is a good fit for you and your pups. We have a couple of options!

    If your dog is already an avid swimmer, you can purchase a membership and pay for your first month. If at any point in that first month, you decide it isn’t for you, you can cancel your membership. Heck, for that matter, you can always cancel your membership at any point if it no longer fits.

    If your dog isn't a super strong swimmer yet, sign up for one of our private lessons or seminars to give it a spin!

  • Your membership is yours as long as you would like to keep it. Your membership dues will be charged to your credit card once per month, and you can cancel at any point.

  • You can cancel your membership at any time. When your membership is canceled, you do go to the back of the waitlist, as we will open your spot up to others that are approved and interested.

    Your membership minutes don’t expire for 60 days, so you can always use them in the following month if you are going to be away.

  • A member may cancel their membership in their online Splash account at any point in their billing cycle without penalty. Remaining pool access time must be used before the end of the billing cycle in which a membership is cancelled.

  • Upgrades can be done at any time if there is space. Downgrades can be completed with 30 days notice.

  • Your application was approved, there was a spot available, and you purchased a membership. Yay! Now what?

    Other than doing a happy dance, check your confirmation email for details on how to log into our members-only portal and book your orientation session and swims.

  • Because of our very long wait list, and the importance of keeping things fair, memberships are non-transferrable.

  • Hey, we get it! We’ll always work with you with these things. We ask that you do not swim your female dog during the bleeding portion of her heat cycle. Your minutes can be used up to 60 days after they were issued, so you are welcome to just delay swimming until that phase is done.

    For injuries, we are happy to put your membership on pause with a vet note until your pup is healed.

  • Yes! Each member must be a current member. Once you have both completed an orientation, you will be able to book your appointments back to back and join each other during your appointments.

  • Your swims are booked in 20 minute intervals. If your membership has 100 minutes per month, you could use it towards one swim, or separate it into up to five separate swims.

  • Because we need to ensure safety for all dogs, our pool liner, and humans, only member dogs are permitted to swim at Splash during individually booked swims.

  • To ensure that we can guarantee enough bookable time for all members, your bookable time frame will stay the same unless your membership type is changed.

  • All household dogs can swim under the same membership.

 Membership FAQs

Your Visit & The Facility

  • Once you've completed your orientation, the entire pool area is yours during your booking. There won't be another client or their dogs sharing the pool with you. The previous client may still be using our separate drying room.

  • Mostly, your dog! We provide clean towels, life jackets and water toys. We recommend bringing non-slip water shoes for yourself, treats, and any favourite floating toys your dog loves. You may want a change of clothes as well.

  • No, due to public health regulations, only dogs can enter the pool. You can walk down the ramp to help your dog enter and exit, but humans can't swim in the pool.

  • You bet! We keep the pool around 27–29°C.

  • The pool is 32' × 16' and about 48" deep. It has a gradual entry ramp, a 16' long practice dock and an 8' long low dock.

  • Dogs enter using a gradual ramp with non-slip matting. We also have life jackets available if your dog needs some extra support.

  • Yes. After your swim, you'll move into our separate private drying room, where we provide clean towels. This time is separate from your booked pool time.

Swimming & First-Timers

  • We recommend starting with a private swimming lesson or Water Lovers 101 seminar. We'll introduce your dog to the pool without pressure and teach you how to help them build confidence in the water.

  • Water Lovers 101 is our small-group learn-to-swim seminar. It's designed for dogs that are new to swimming and handlers who want to learn how to introduce swimming safely and positively. Dogs take turns in the pool and then have some time to rest before their next turn.

  • Swimming is harder work than it looks. For many dogs, 15–20 minutes of actual swimming is plenty, and equates to around an hour of walking. Your dog's age, fitness, swimming experience and individual needs should guide their swim time.

  • That's okay. Some dogs need several positive introductions before they feel confident. We don't recommend forcing a hesitant dog into the water. A private lesson or Water Lovers 101 is a better place to start. We also know that swimming isn’t of interest for some dogs, but by building some skills, many dogs will take to swimming.

  • You can use Splash as part of a plan created by your veterinarian or rehabilitation professional, but we don't provide canine rehabilitation or prescribe therapeutic exercise. Your veterinary team should guide the duration, frequency and type of swimming appropriate for your dog. If you are considering swimming your dog for rehabilitation, please ensure you have this conversation with your veterinarian first.

Private Lessons & Dock Diving

  • Yes. We offer one-on-one swimming and dock diving lessons as availability allows. Private lessons are available to members and non-members.

  • Yes. Private swimming lessons or seminars are a good option for dogs that are new to the water, need some extra confidence, or would benefit from individual attention.

  • Absolutely. Your dog doesn't need any dock diving experience to start. We can work on water confidence, toy drive, the foundations needed for jumping, and those initial jumps, right through to being trial-ready.

  • Yes. We offer small-group seminars covering everything from introductory dock diving to more advanced skills, including distance jumping, Air Retrieve and Hydrodash.

  • Yes. Private lessons can be tailored to specific skills, and Splash members can use their private swim time to practise independently.

  • No. Our pool and dock aren't regulation competition dimensions. Our 16' dock and 32' pool are designed for training skills and mechanics that translate onto a full competition dock with a bit more running.

Health, Safety & Dogs

  • Private bookings mean you won't share the pool area with unfamiliar dogs. If your dog needs space from people, let us know so we can make their orientation comfortable. Dogs with a history of aggression toward dogs or people require additional clearance before using the facility.

  • The pool uses chlorine to control bacteria and maintain safe water quality. Our filtration system runs continuously and is maintained specifically for canine use.

  • A small amount generally isn't a concern, but you should prevent excessive water consumption. Drinking large amounts of water during swimming can contribute to water intoxication, which is a medical emergency.

  • We recommend avoiding meals for about three hours before swimming and waiting about an hour afterward before feeding. This is a general recommendation and you may wish to talk to your vet about specific timing for your dog.

  • Usually not. Most dogs can simply be towel-dried after swimming. If your dog has sensitive skin or swims frequently, you may prefer to rinse them afterward.

  • Many can. Our ramp and available life jackets make entering and exiting easier. If your dog has a medical condition, injury or mobility limitation, talk with your veterinarian first about what's appropriate for them.
